4s on Tuesday Guidelines for Class Visits
1. Before starting school, five year olds are encouraged to have familiarisation visits for 3 to 5 sessions, with a parent/adult.
2. We run a specific school programme for children after they turn 4, to familiarise students with the school setting. We have 4’s on Tuesday from 9am to 11am. The programme is designed to be fun and educational, and children need to be supported in this by one of their parents/ caregivers. However, we are flexible and if this does not suit your schedule, please contact us for an alternative time.
3. It is suggested that they bring “brain-food” to eat at 10 a.m. If they have their school back pack, they can bring this as well.
4. You may like to use the opportunity of class visits to purchase uniform and stationery items from the Office, so that your child starts Day One ready with all required
materials.
5. We plan and teach a well balanced curriculum, but the main thrust for Year 0/1 is oral language, reading, numeracy, social skills and routines.
6. We always aim to be as positive as possible, with guidelines that are clear, but firm. Children find security and happiness in a well organised, motivating environment.
